Hand-picked pubs. One night. No strangers.

Pick your drink. Beat its par.

Tee Off Toronto runs Toronto's Saturday pub crawl: a hand-picked lineup of proper pubs across the Entertainment District, two hosts, and a group that starts the night as strangers. It is the first-night-in-a-new-city ritual, the Scottish and Irish way: find the pubs, find your people, and by last orders the city feels like yours.

Tee Off Toronto turns the same hand-picked pubs into a course on pub golf nights. At every stop you pick your drink and the card sets its par. Count your sips, keep your card, and the lowest score wins the night.

Northman: the flagship Saturday crawlPub golf nights, played your way

One hosted pub crawl, a hand-picked lineup of pubs, evenings to late, and a group that starts the night as strangers. The same hand-picked pubs and the same hosts, with a scorecard in play and a fixed par for every drink.

Northman is the main event: a hosted pub crawl through a hand-picked lineup of proper pubs, built on the Scottish and Irish ritual of the first night in a new city. You walk into the first pub not knowing Toronto or anyone in it, and by the second stop you have a crew, a group chat, and strong opinions about which pub is best.

It runs evenings and goes to late, so it feels like a proper night out. No games, no gimmicks, no club-crawl wristband energy: just the right rooms in the right order, two hosts working the room, and a crowd heavy on newcomers, travellers, and locals who remember being new. Come solo, come with visitors, come because you moved here in March and still only know your coworkers.

  • Hosts who actually hostTwo hosts all night: they run the route, pace the stops, work the introductions, and make sure nobody is standing alone nursing a pint and their phone.
  • Built for meeting peopleMost of the group arrives solo or in pairs, and the group reshuffles at every stop, so by the final pub you've talked to everyone, not just whoever you arrived next to.
  • Proper pubs, no coversA hand-picked lineup of real pubs on one line through the Entertainment District. No cover charges, no nightclub detours, no velvet-rope queues: every stop is a pub you'd pick yourself.
  • Your drink, your paceOrder what you like, including the 0% options every stop pours. Skip a stop or peel off early any time, no questions and no shame.

On golf nights the same hand-picked pubs become a course and everyone carries a printed scorecard. But this is not the down-your-pint version. The card sets the par by drink, and the full par table lives in one place: on the scorecard itself. Your score is how many sips the drink takes you. Beat the par and you're under; lowest total at the final hole wins.

Nobody is forced to drink a beer, or anything else. A shot at one hole and a slow pint at the next is just good course management. Every stop also pours 0% options that play exactly the same way: count your sips, and you're in the game, not watching it.

  • Fixed pars, printed on the cardYou pick the drink at every hole; the par comes with it. The whole table is on the front of the card: see the scorecard.
  • The scorecard is your ticketA printed, stamped card for every player: show it at each hole, keep it as the souvenir.
  • A visor for every playerEveryone tees off in a visor, and it is yours to keep. Anything else the night has in store stays a surprise until it happens. And forfeits are never drinking ones.
  • Paced like golf, on purposeGolf is a slow game by design. Finish your drink before we move on, water between holes, and skip any hole freely: that's the house etiquette, printed right on the card.

The Route

The lineup is a secret, on purpose

The route is a hand-picked lineup of proper pubs through Toronto's Entertainment District, and the names stay under wraps. If we published them, anyone could tag along uninvited, and the group would not be the group. Booked guests get the whole thing by email. Everyone else just hears the stories.

1

Book your Saturday

Pick a date and a theme below and send the request. We hold your spots while your invoice is prepared.

2

Check your inbox

Once your booking is confirmed, your confirmation email includes the meeting point and the full lineup of pubs for the night.

3

Meet the hosts

Show up at the first pub, find your hosts, and follow them through the lineup you already have by email: short walks, hosts leading the way, all night.

What is public: the neighbourhood (the Entertainment District), the day (Saturday), and two hosts waiting at the first pub. What is not: a single pub name, until you're booked in.

How It Works

One Saturday night, first pub to last callOne round, first tee to final hole

Evenings only, running to late. Exact start times are confirmed when you book; after that, the hosts handle everything.Play it in daylight with an afternoon round, or tee off in the evening and play under the lights. Exact times are confirmed when you book.

  1. 1 Meet at the secret first pub

Your confirmation email names the meeting point and the full lineup, so you know exactly where to be. Meet your hosts and the rest of the group there. Most people arrive solo or in pairs, and that is the point: by the time the first round lands, the introductions are done and the night has a crew.Your confirmation email names the first pub. Collect your scorecard and visor there, meet your fourball, and hear the one rule that matters: the card sets the par, you just pick your drink. Solo player? We build your team on the spot, and most of the field starts as strangers.

  2. 2 First rounds, first impressionsPick your first drink

The hosts get everyone introduced and the group starts to mix, and the group chat gets set up right here at the first pub, so if anyone gets separated later on, the whole group is one message away. Order what you like: this is a crawl through proper pubs, not a drinking game. The card sets the par, you pick the drink: the full par table is printed on the front of your scorecard. First sips on the card, first photo. The group chat gets set up here too, at the first pub, so nobody loses the field between holes. Your host explains the card and the house etiquette: drinks are enjoyed, never raced.

  3. 3 The secret middle stopsThe middle holes

The middle stops from your confirmation email: hand-picked pubs, and your hosts lead the way through the lineup you already have. The group reshuffles at every stop, water is always around, and you can skip a pub or peel off any time, no questions.Sip against the par for your drink, mark the card, stroll to the next hole. Water is always on hand, every stop pours a 0% option that plays the same way, and you can skip a hole any time: mark it, no questions.

  4. 4 The final pubThe final hole

The whole group lands in one room with live music. This is where the photos get taken, the group chat fills up, and next Saturday starts getting planned.Last drinks picked, last sips counted, cards in. Ties are settled on countback over the last three holes, in front of the whole field.

  5. 5 The night is yoursThe scores are read out

Stay on at the final pub or head out into the Entertainment District. Most groups stay.Lowest card takes the night, and whatever the hosts have in store for the winners stays a surprise until it happens. Photos go up the same night, and the final pub pours on, so most of the field stays put.

Good to know before you head out

  • Dress for a proper night out. These are the best rooms in the district, not a club crawl: bring the good shirt, leave the fancy dress at home.
  • Golf attire encouraged. Polos, plaid, plus-fours, and a visor for every player at tee-off: dress like you mean it.
  • Drinks are not included: you buy your own at each pub (roughly $7–10 a pint on this route). That's what keeps the ticket at $45 instead of $90.
  • Indoor-first route. Every stop is a proper pub, so rain never cancels a night. The walk between pubs is the only weather you'll meet.
  • Finish before you move. Drinks stay in the pub that poured them: house rule, Ontario law, and it keeps the group together.
  • Group capped at 36 people per night, so the rooms never get swamped and the hosts can actually host.

Questions

Before you ask

Do I have to drink alcohol to play?

No, and you won't be at a disadvantage. Every stop pours 0% options, and plenty of people mix and match across the night. On golf nights they play exactly like anything else: pick the par that fits your pour and count your sips. On the crawl, just order what you enjoy.

I'm coming alone. Is that weird?

Not even slightly. Solo guests are a big part of every night, especially travellers and people new to the city. Groups form at the meet-up, and the hosts make the introductions, so within five minutes you're in the conversation rather than hovering at the bar rail.

How competitive is it, really?

On golf nights, as competitive as you make it. There's a real card and a winner every week, but the pars are fixed by drink on the card, so you're mostly playing against your own choices, and a first-timer can absolutely beat a regular. The Northman crawl keeps no score at all. The best-dressed argument has ended friendships. (Friendly ones.)

What should I wear?

On golf nights, golf attire is half the fun: polos, plaid, the boldest sweater you own, plus the visor every player gets at tee-off. On the crawl, dress for a proper night out. Either way, wear shoes you can walk in: the route is pavement, not fairway.

What if it rains?

The night goes ahead. The route is an indoor-first route, and every stop is a proper pub, so the only weather you meet is the short walk between them. In genuinely dangerous weather we'd postpone and offer a refund or a transfer, your choice.

What's the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, you can transfer your spot to a friend or move it to another Saturday once, free. And every night runs with a guaranteed group: if we ever have to cancel, that's on us, full refund, no forms.

Where do we meet, and which pubs are on the route?

That stays secret until you're booked in, so nobody can tag along uninvited. Once your booking is confirmed, your confirmation email includes the meeting point and the full lineup of pubs for the night. Publicly, all we will say is this: a hand-picked lineup of proper pubs in Toronto's Entertainment District, on a Saturday.

Can I book the whole route for a private event?

Yes. Birthdays, team socials, and company nights are exactly what private bookings are for, up to 36 people, in either theme. Contact us with your date and group size and we'll build your night.
